Week 8 Friday

Today in class was mostly just a studio session. It was good to find out that they don't expect us to create every page of an app just what we need to show our idea clearly and how it works. This takes a lot of the pressure off and I am feeling less overwhelmed now. I have currently got 2 major touchpoints and 2 smaller ones so I think that is enough for a one-person project. I started to draw some thumbnail sketches of poster ideas.

 I also finalized my style and drew wireframes of every page of my app and will decide later on which ones I need to actually make.

I started designing some possible poster options and styles on illustrator. For this one I wanted to try play on the idea of food porn, however, I think it'll be too difficult to pull off in the time we have as I think it would need to be much more detailed than this to look effective. 

I think started exploring a different style that is still very edgy and poppy that I think will appeal to my target audience. I have chosen the title The F word because I think its a funny little play on the fact that it relates to many f-words such as food, five minutes, five ingredients, five recipes, food porn, fast, flatter. All words that define my idea. I may change it later on but I think its cool for now.

I wasn't sure if the black outline style was working as well as it could so I decided to try changing the colors to match the food that was in the poster and I think this works a lot better.

I was inspired by 60s diner menus and style a lot for my posters because they are so colorful and fun and inviting and I think this will appeal to students. They're funky, exciting and illustrative and not too classy which is the personality I want to portray with my project.
