Week 9 Friday

Today we started off in the Pit and they showed us a few examples of previous presentations. It was good to see what sort of format they used and how they used storytelling in to show the viewer their touchpoints. If I have time I am thinking of doing a video to go through the story/journey map of each of my touchpoints as I think this works very effectively.

My presentation story will go through the journey of a student:

- nothing in the fridge for dinner
- cant cook
- orders uber eat
- sees poster at uni next day
- gets the app and signs up for a class
- goes to class
- gets take-home kit
- goes on app to find the recipe to use kit for
- cooks meal
- continues using app for recipe inspiration next day

Week 9 Tuesday

Today in class we spend the time planning our final presentations and what we need to talk about and how we are going to show it. I was a bit overwhelmed as I don't feel I am in a place to be thinking about that stage yet when I still have so much designing to do. It was good to get some clarity on the final submission though and touch base with what I actually need to make for it.

This is my plan for my presentation:

Week 8 Friday

Today in class was mostly just a studio session. It was good to find out that they don't expect us to create every page of an app just what we need to show our idea clearly and how it works. This takes a lot of the pressure off and I am feeling less overwhelmed now. I have currently got 2 major touchpoints and 2 smaller ones so I think that is enough for a one-person project. I started to draw some thumbnail sketches of poster ideas.

Week 8 Tuesday

We did an exercise in class where we had to think of ways in which our project could potentially relate to each of the 5 ways of wellbeing. This was helpful in clarifying the intent of each touch point I am creating and also will be easy to put into the dossier when it comes time to do that.

Week 7 Friday

Today in class we had a super crit session. We had some 4th years come in and give some feedback which was super helpful. I got a lot of good feedback on my project and got given a lot of things to consider moving my project forward. I prototyped an app and a visual mock up of the cooking class.

I am unsure if this is the style I will continue with but it is just to test if this is a good interface. My motto is 5 ingredients in 5 minutes as the hook that will entice students to use these resources.

  • ·         Hashtags – coolest meals wins
  • ·         Submissions for recipes
  • ·         Sign up list to keep numbers down
  • ·         Meal kits after each class with ingredients and recipes
  • ·         Could be a voting system for what to make

Things to make:
  • Website/ app for signing up and voting – videos/tutorials - uploading recipes
  •  Meal kits
  •  Posters
